Financial Support
One of the most effective ways to help provide food for hungry
children, seniors, homeless, sick, working poor families,
and others in crisis across Central Florida is to make a financial
contribution to Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida.
While much of the 13 million+ pounds of food our organization
distributes each year is donated to us, there are many substantial
costs that must be covered for our mission to continue. Financial
gifts help defray the cost of transporting, receiving, storing,
and distributing food, and enable us to keep the food flowing
to more than 450 nonprofit agencies that are assisting our
neighbors in need. We are very proud of the fact that 98.3%
of all product and money contributions go directly toward
feeding hungry people rather than administration or fundraising.
You should also know that for every dollar donated, Second
Harvest Food Bank can provide four meals for people in need.
That's about $9.00 in food value. Your gift is a powerful
investment in hope!
Our Food Bank is a tax-exempt charitable organization (IRS
501 (c)(3)), which means your contribution is deductible to
the full extent allowed by law.
